Song lyrics o' the day - Imogen Heap

The dust has only just begun to fall,
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.

I adore lyrics that you can see. I know, I know...everyone likes this song AND it was on the soundtrack for some lame-o zachbraff movie. I cannot tell a lie, it is still on my iPod. It always makes me think of the accordian. Imogen Heap, how are you so cool?

Also: I've officially lost track of what I've posted on here...Hopefully no duplicates ever! Posterous paginated my entries and now I'm confused.

Song lyrics o' the day - Sarah McLaughlin

Truth be told I tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear

Yeah, I know...Lilith Fair and all that...not really my style, but I
wanted three for three Canadian Sarahs!

Tomorrow will be a new day, no more Canadian Sarahs...I don't write
song lyrics :)

Song lyrics o' the day - Sarah Harmer

i can just see you show me your garden
i thought you'd grow roses and grapes on low vines
i wanted to know you when we were both older
i thought there'd be more of those wonderful times
i can lie to myself and say i like it
but i would love it if you were here
i'm just sad for myself cause i know you're clear

What's this? A weekend of Canadian Sarahs? Sound fantastic! Sarah Harmer is a Canadian staple. My absolute favorite album is Songs for Clem. I could listen to it every day. I believe the story goes she recorded it for her father, Clem. A bunch of old favourites on a wonderful old piano...the last track, piano only, "Oh, my beloved father" is a delight. Bears repeating: A DELIGHT. iTunes has it.

Song lyrics o' the day - Sarah Slean

Get home, get home
Nothing more to say
You know, you know
That you'll never change

I really want to love Sarah Slean. She's canadian, she's talented and she's painfully beautiful. I don't love her though. I find most of her piano playing too ker-plunky (that's a technical term) and her voice too theatrical. However, whenever I hear this song, it absolutely breaks my heart.

Song lyrics o' the day - The Be Good Tanyas

Well I feel like an old hobo, I'm sad lonesome and blue
I was fair as the summer day now the summer days are through
You pass through places and places pass through you
But you carry 'em with you on the souls of your travellin' shoes

Oh how I wish I could sing so I could sing to this song. The Be Good Tanyas are an old favourite of mine and I never tire of hearing this lovely, lovely track. The littlest birds sing the prettiest songs.

Song lyrics o' the day - RUN DMC

But I'd never steal from Santa, cause that ain't right
So I'm going home to mail it back to him that night
But when I got home I bugged, cause under the tree
Was a letter from Santa and all the dough was for me
I'm especially festive this year! Listening to a mix of Christmas tunes today and this came up.
I LOVED this track in...1987? I think that's when it came out. It is always the right time for RUN DMC.
